The lead-up to Christmas is one of the most anticipated times of the year, filled with heartwarming gatherings, traditional holiday activities, and nostalgic seasonal flavours to enjoy as winter settles in. Each year, our Executive Head Chef crafts our Christmas menus to bring out the magic of a classic Turkey dinner while introducing exciting, contemporary flavours to the mix. We’ve highlighted a few standout components of our festive dining menu and why they’re perfect for the 2024 season!
A Classic Christmas Dinner
Turkey remains the quintessential centrepiece of a Christmas Day meal, beloved for the memories it evokes, even if it’s not everyone’s favourite dish. However, the side dishes—roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, and rich stuffing—often steal the show and are cherished elements of any festive feast. Some enjoy these traditional sides at every seasonal gathering, from holiday parties to family dinners, while others save this beloved meal for Christmas Day itself. Do you savour turkey and trimmings all season long or save them for the main event?
Seafood Delights
In many cultures, seafood is the go-to for seasonal meals, and in the UK, we’re no exception, with classics like prawn cocktails and smoked salmon. This year, we’ve added a unique fish main course across our festive menus to highlight seasonal flavours in a lighter way. This alternative dish is satisfying yet leaves room for dessert, making it a delightful option without sacrificing taste.
Pickled Vegetables
When picturing Christmas vegetables, roasted roots likely come to mind. However, 2024 has seen a rise in the pickled vegetable trend, and we’re excited to add these vibrant flavours to this year’s holiday menu. Featured prominently in our starters at The Mirabelle Restaurant and The Garden Grill, the pickled twist brings a fresh, tangy taste to our festive offerings.
Cheese Selections
According to a recent UK survey, cheese and crackers rank second as a favourite holiday food, and it’s no wonder: cheese brings a comforting richness to any meal. Whether it’s a gooey baked cheese starter, a meatless main course, or a grand cheese board to end your meal, our festive menu offers a variety of cheeses across our restaurants to enjoy throughout the season.
